Quite Time, Phil Wickham: Heaven and Earth, Hot Chocolate & My Thoughts:
Brock & I pray every night together before I go to bed. It's a part of our marriage I really enjoy. I think it's one of the times I really know what's going on in my husband's heart. Brock is really fascinated with the end times & Biblical prophecies. Most night's after he's listened to the radio about all the horrible politics going on in the world he's pretty passionate about the poor state our country is in. (I don't blame him!) So, back to prayer time. He usually prayers, among other things, for our country, president, and how he sees every day become nearer & nearer to Christ's 2nd coming.
Don't get me wrong. It's awesome to hear my husband's heart about this. But sometimes I think, "oh, I hope it'll just wait until I get to... (fill in the blank)". When I was younger it was until I could drive, then have a boyfriend or get married. Now I'd love to spend time with our child and raise a family. To see our dreams of a home in the country, etc...
Today I decided to just dig in to some Psalms about praising my Savior. Since we don't know how much time we do have here on earth to praise our Savior and preach His word, I just wanted to concentrate on my attitude of what I am here to do, not what I want to do.
Then I was listening to Phil Wickham (yeah, I'm a sucker for just about anything Phil!) and this song tore at my heart----
Heaven Song:
I read ever word Read it page by page
You said that You’d be coming
Coming for me soon
Oh my God I’ll be ready for You
‘Cause I want to run on greener pastures
I want to dance on higher hills
I want to drink from sweeter waters
In the misty morning chill
And my soul is getting restless
For the place where I belong
I can’t wait to join the angels and sing my heaven
I hear Your voice and I catch my breath
Well done my child enter in, in rest
As tears of joy roll down my cheek
Oh it’s beautiful beyond my wildest dreams
What was I thinking? Why do I long to experience things of this world when there's a better place waiting for me. My longing should be to "run on greener pastures, dance on higher hills, & drink of sweeter waters".
Isn't this so hard when we don't know what await us in Heaven? It is for me. But I want "my soul to be restless for the place I really belong". How amazing with it be when we do hear HIS voice, and our breath catches for the first time? I wonder if I'll stop to give myself a swift kick wondering why I ever pleaded with Him to stay His return so I could just experience one more thing here on earth. This isn't where we were created for!
Oh it’s beautiful beyond my wildest dreams

I like this very much. The person I am doesn't enjoy earth very much, but you have captured some of my thoughts very well. I like the song you used and how it shows us how much Heaven will be compared to here. How we can't even imagine it at all. I hope to see you there.
