say what?!

I have had this dumb cold for a while now. I can tolerate feeling crappy, but I ended up calling my midwife because at my last appointment she said "as long as you don't... you'll be fine." Yes, I forgot what she said.
So, I called the office, told her after 2 weeks of the head congestion (pregnancy symptom-so I'm told) I developed a rather deep nasty cough. So, 5 days into that I was wondering if this was what "..." was and if I should be doing something different. She gave me a few suggestions of Mid-wife approved medicine, reminded me to drink lots of water and make sure to sleep and rest as much as I can.

SAY WHAT??

How is one supposed to do this? My day consists of being up and out the door by 6:50am! I consider it an accomplishment to brush my teeth and eat breakfast before work! Home by 4:30 in time to make dinner, clean up the kitchen, pay bills, sort mail, take out the trash, laundry, etc... How is one supposed to get MORE sleep and MORE rest.

So Saturday rolls around and I plan to watch movies and sit my lazy bum on the couch all day. But alas, this did not happen either. I'm not sure who really expects me to rest, but it just isn't happening. There is way too much to do, weather to enjoy and the couch all day just doesn't cut it for me.

What is one to do?

Drew's Birthday Party!

March 17th is my godson, Drew's, birthday! Today was his party! We spend last week getting ready, and all day yesterday. It was a lot of fun!

I have enjoyed seeing Drew grow from a little baby who would sleep in my arms 6 years ago, to a fun, energetic, loving little guy. It melts my heart every time I hear him pray at a meal or bed time! He just got his blue belt in Karate this week as well! I'm so glad i get to be a part of his life as he grows up to be the Godly man i know he will be =)

I love you with my whole heart Andrew! -xoxo Auntie Dee Dee

I got my butt kicked...

And i was just laying there on the table!!!

Yes, i had a massage this afternoon. It had been a long time coming. I got a gift certificate from my lovely friends the O'Reilly Family a couple years back for my birthday. I guess i just got so busy and kept putting it off. But finally i decided i needed to go! I've had a stressful couple of weeks and thought it would be nice to treat myself (and i didn't even have to pay a cent!). So, i made an appointment for today.

Let me tell you, this lady knows how to get a knot out! WHOOOEEEE! First, i went into my room and got under the  covers. That part is always a little intimidating. The bed was nice and warm and i almost fell asleep before she came back! The music was very soothing and the candles smelled amazing. Anyway, great massage. But it was weird that some lady i didn't know was rubbing my butt... on the other hand, maybe its better that way!!! I've also never had my armpits rubbed or massaged. STRANGE experience, let me tell you! She worked me really hard!! And every time she would push hard on a certain spot in my back, my stomach would gurgle! It was so weird... and i was so embarrased!!! HAHA... i felf like i was working out for hours after that and my muscles were a little sore!

All in all, it was extremely relaxing. Especially after getting up at 3am this morning to go to work at Starbucks---which by the way was really great. I slipped back in with no problem! Making drinks, Order taking at the drive-thru, etc etc... but the best part, i didn't have to tell everyone (or anyone!) what to do. I'm really digging this!!! So while my management career at Starbucks was great (in & of itself- the job description!) and i learned a lot and it gave me GREAT work experience, I'm really excited to get back to the simple life at the SBUX...

Ahhh Weekends.... i love relaxing and I'm loving this weather!!! =) Saturday is only half over, and I'm already looking forward to next week!!!
