Menu Plan: March 18
Let's try this again.
Brock's grandfather passed away on Tuesday. This threw off our menu for the week so I'm starting over...
After Isaac's 2 month check up with Dr. Sears, I am also adding in Fish {Salmon mostly} to our menu once a week and having left overs for lunch at least once a week as well.
And the last thing I've added is ingredients for green smoothies & home made applesauce squeezers!
So hear goes:
Sunday~ Baked Potato Soup with carrots & Biscuits
Monday~ Salmon (Recipe TBD) & Rice with Green Beans
Tuesday~ Cafe Rio Family Night
Wednesday~ Beach Pit with Nicole & Brady
Thursday~ Pineapple Soyaki Crockpot Chicken over Rice with Salad
Friday~ Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
We LOVE our Sili Squeezes around here! I just ordered 4 more to keep up with the demand. Plus, it will come in handy for Isaac in a few months as well! I'm re-perfecting my purees and enjoying making healthy snacks for Silas that are easy to take on the go, or grab in a pinch when he's *Starving* at the same second the babe is!
So this week on the Sili Menu:
Strawberry-Carrot-Applesauce
(home made organic strawberry puree, home made organic carrot puree mixed with Organic Applesauce)
Home made Strawberry and Blueberry Vanana Yogurt
(organic Strawberry and organic Blueberry purees mixed in with TJ's Banana/Vanilla=Vanana Yogurt)
Green Smoothing
(organic spinach, pears, bananas, oranges, carrot juice and vanana yogurt)
FEWWWW. What a list!!!

1st & Happening:
- You have been smiling so much the past few weeks!
- You found that you move your hands and feet! (3/4/12)
- Rolling Over and Scooting on your tummy! You'll move all the way across your play mat and we find you on the wood floor!
- You are very observant, studious and serious.
- You are becoming more and more of your own little man. While you and Silas look very similar, you are starting out with much lighter hair than Silas did. Its curly too! You have more of the Mexican/Italian/Hawaiian skin color. The thing that stands out the most however is your beautiful Blue eyes! We joked maybe you would have blue eyes, but I think you might keep them!!
- The swing
- Being held and tickled!
- Sitting with your brother and when he makes you laugh
- Napping... from 9am-4pm! pretty much all day and getting up to eat once in a while
- and of course... EATING. Obviously =)
Not So Much:
- Going back to sleep in your own bed... working on it
- Car Seat is hit or miss
- Being put down when you want to be held
- gas... but who is a fan?!
- Not getting your first nap or getting off your nap routine does not make for a happy Isaac. Learned my lessons there...
You visited Grand-Nani (Brock's Grandma) this past week and she has nick named you "fatso"...but she's 92, so she can get away with it =)
Your a chubby bubby as Grammy (Herring) calls you. You have been in 3-6 month clothes for a while now, and many of them are already packed away because they are too small!
Your usually asleep by 8pm and sleeping some good stretches. I don't even look at the clock anymore. But usually I am only up 2 time during the night with you.
adventures with Silas: 21 months
21 months!!!!
I can not believe it!
Happenings & 1st:
- New Words: Isaac, cutie, see, i love you too, book, ball, truck, ouch
- Counting: We love to count EVERYTHING. One, Two, Five and Six are favorites. But he can count to 10! Super cute.
- Fun:You can point out your head, hair, eyes, nose, ears, mouth, teeth, hands, fingers, tummy and toes! Previously you only liked to do you head and tummy. Now you like to show me everything on your cute little face!
- You can put your shoes on all by yourself. Most every time you even get them on the right feet!
Loves:
- Grammy got you a new train and table for her house! You love it and want to bring it home every time we go!
- You love your brother and are getting much better at being gentle and playing around him. You love to comfort him when he is sad, play with him when he is happy and share your toys and teach him things! I LOVE watching you play. Every day you both do better co-habitating... rather, you not killing him with love =) You often share your blanket when there are tears, shove your pacifier in his mouth if its open, give him tastes of treats, and even give him good night coconut milk!
- Speaking of... we are back to Coconut Milk. While you have tolerated drinking Cow's milk, your little tummy hasn't liked it much at all. So you get coconut milk for sleepy times and ask for it during the day too.
- Your are such a veggie and fruit lover! The other day you got out a bag of spinach, mushrooms and tomatoes. So, since it was 7am, I made you a veggie egg hash brown breakfast with onions, avocado and salsa to boot. You ended up eating it all with none left for me!
- Love watching Word World, Backyardagins and FreshBeatBand! Its so great to see you watch, listen and repeat! You learn so much from these shows! It reminds me constantly how much you soak up without being "taught". You love the interactions of these shows and how they tell you to "jump" or repeat words and letters!
- COLORING! A new favorite that has taken over our house. You love to draw on anything and everything with crayons and pens!
Not So Much...
- Daddy has been gone a lot this month. (In total 16 days!) We made it however! You have had a hard time at night with him gone, but we are working it through!
- Don't like saying good-bye to Grammy or Grandpa when they leave.
- Sitting in a high chair is a thing of the past. We're all about being a big boy and sitting at the table with everyone.
I love you Silas Boy! I can't believe how much of a little boy you are becoming and not my baby!!! Keep learning, loving and smiling!!
