Happy Father's Day!

I'm a day late, or maybe two... I'm not quite sure what today is!

I'm pretty sure i have the best dad every.
He is the most kind, caring, sensitive and Godly man I know.

Thanks Dad for everything you do for me, have done for me and continue to do for me.
I know I wouldn't be the person I am today without your leading and guiding.
I hope that I use my talents, gifts, everything I have and am for God's glory just like you.

Thanks for setting such an amazing example of a servant leader in our household so that I knew what to look for in a husband.

1. BOOT CAMP IS OVER! Brock is a US Army Soldier now =)

Brothers...

I haven't really gotten to hang out with my brother in a long time. Growing up, we weren't super close. He was in High School when i was in College, so we didn't really do much together then anyway.  When i graduated from BIOLA and he graduated from High School the same year, i started realizing how much he had changed since we were kids.

He has a girlfriend, and a relationship with her, that i admire.

He is smart and funny.

He is talented in so many things.

He's driven and passionate.

He can be caring & thoughtful.

He sees a big picture.

He looks at the world in black and white.

I am so glad that he and Brock get along so well. They are great friends, and a brother to each other that they never had.  But sometimes I am jealous of the time they spend together. I wanted that time too with my brother. While his girlfriend, Chelsea, has been gone for the past year, and i have been living right next door, we have gotten to spend a lot of time together. I am so thankful that God has blessed me with Daniel as my brother. Even though he is younger than I am, I gladly welcome his advice and help in my life.

I'm glad that i have such a great friend in my life, and that i can call him brother =)

Brock Update #8... 73 days and counting!

Brock passed his last PT Test! He is an official Soldier of the United States Army now! He received his Barret to wear now. Spifffffyyyy! All who pass/graduated (about 60/70 guys) were given afternoon passes. Brock got a hair cut, made lots of phone calls, went to lunch at Burger King (I guess they left the base & walked 1.5 miles!), went to a little strip mall and of course, a Starbucks visit. He sounded like he was really enjoying the time off and it was much deserved.

Tomorrow he starts Military Police Academy/Training. 

I feel like in some ways, it will be easier from here on out until he is all graduated. But I also know this will be more mentally challenging for Brock versus the mainly physical aspects of Boot Camp.

But I am sure glad it is!

Brock update #7

For the few minuets (literally!) that we talked, Brock said that last week on their forest "mission"

the 1st night started to started to set up/dig fox holes in the dark- poured "buckets of" rain before they could even put their tents up. A hurricane warning was issued and they had to evacuate (around midnight). Had to be back up around 5am. Said they haven't gotten much sleep (about 6 hours a night). The 2nd day they weren't able to sleep outside either because all their clothes/tents/gearwas wet and mildewy (sp?). I believe they did end up doing their mission and whatever they needed to do later in the week.

A New Tradition...

Sunday around 4pm, i usually realize that the weekend is now coming to a close. Don't you hate that feeling? I sure do. So, in light of that fact, i think that Jennie had a great idea.
