Veteran's Day

While Veteran's Day isn't until Wednesday, many people celebrate it today as well.

It's a "holiday" we really should spend more time thinking about all week anyway, so I don't feel too bad posting this today!

What IS Veteran's Day anyway?
GREAT QUESTION!

The first observances of Veteran's Day (which was originally Armistice Day ) was declared by former President Woodrow Wilson in , November 11, 1919. This was the 1 year anniversary of the ending of World War 1.

In 1926 a request was made to make Armistice Day an annual, federally observed Holiday, "to be dedicated to the cause of world peace and to be thereafter celebrated and known as 'Armistice Day'", and was finally passed in 1938. In 1954 former President Dwight D. Eisenhower declared Armistice Day to celebrate war Veterans, not just those from World War 1, thus becoming known as "Veteran's Day".

I'm so thankful for those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom and to keep our country safe!
Thank you to all those have, and continue to courageously served our country on the war fronts as well as here in the states on bases around our country, and for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in laying down their lives.
Thank you to the families as well, who support their soldiers in such a huge life commitment.

How...

...Do you make a house your home?

...Do you make your home feel like fall? (especially in So. Cal.)

...Do you keep up with a never ending laundry pile & dishes on the sink?

...Do you keep life in perspective when it doesn't want to stay that way?

SAFE

Safe
-Phil Wickham

To the one who's dreams are falling all apart
And all you're left with is a tired and broken heart
I can tell by your eyes you think your on your own
but you're not all alone

Have you heard of the One who can calm the raging seas
Give sight to the blind, pull the lame up to their feet
With a love so strong He'll never let you go
oh you're not alone

You will be safe in His arms
You will be safe in His arms
'Cause the hands that hold the world are holding your heart
This is the promise He made
He will be with You always
When everything is falling apart
You will be safe in His arms

Did you know that the voice that brings the dead to life
Is the very same voice that calls you to rise
So hear Him now He's calling you home
You will never be alone

These are the hands that built the mountains
the hands that calm the seas
These are the arms that hold the heavens
they are holding you and me

These are hands that healed the leper
Pulled the lame up to their feet
These are the arms that were nailed to a cross
to break our chains and set us free

Do you listen to Phil Wickham? I love his music... this song is so touching. I love it.

Did you know that the voice that brings the dead to life
Is the very same voice that calls you to rise
So hear Him now He's calling you home
You will never be alone

This has totally caught my attention when i listen to it.
Is this how I live? Do I live as tho the Creator of the WORLD has led me?
I desire to. But I don't always. But why should I be afraid? My God can move mountains, raise the dead to life.
That's the Savior I follow. I don't want to live in fear, or half hearted...
My desire is to be BOLD, and FEARLESS for my God.

Apple Picking Disapoint....

Brock surprised me with remembering how much I wanted to go apple picking.
Saturday we decided to head out to Riley's Farm to do just that!
When we arrived we found out that all their apples had been picked!
So we picked a Pumpkin instead =)
Then we made FRESH apple cider with apples picked by other folks.
And ended the day with lunch at Bob's Big Boy in some po-dunk town on the way home.
Great date!
