Menu Plan: Feb 27

Just the boys and me this week = lots of veggies & onions around here =)

You're what and where?

5 or 6 years ago, sitting in my dorm room at Biola I'm not sure I would have or could have envisioned my life today...

It's Saturday afternoon. My husband is gone for over a week training for a HazMat National Emergency if one should ever take place.
A fun, funny, crazy, lovable 20 month old Silas is running around in circles with his juice cup, playing with trucks and reading his truck books. And a cute, cuddly, chubby 1 month old Isaac is sleeping the afternoon away on the couch.

I've been up since 5:30am (yes, even on Saturday). It's 2pm and I just got my shower. But I've already done 2 loads of laundry and folded/put away 3 more. Not to mention a load of diapers as well. Run the dishwasher, cleaned floors and bathrooms. Got out to the farmers market for bread with both boys, coffee and the bank.

Breakfast consisted of fresh french bread, cheese & fruit with Silas! Reminiscent of my days in Italy. Then we snacked on green smoothies together.

I'm a military wife, a crunchy, baby wearin' cloth diapering mama.
I wonder what 19 year old me would have thought? What would I have told myself?
Did I ever think I'd be an ARMY wife? Whose sent my husband off to war? Did I ever think I'd be a "crunchy/granola" mama? Did that word even exist when I was in college?

Amazing what 5 years will bring you to and through...

And I love most every minuet. And wouldn't change the sleepless nights, barf and tantrums, kisses, snuggles, smiles and firsts for anything!!!

Do they know?

Dear Silas & Isaac,

Today has been a great day.
One of those great days I wish every day could be like.

Isaac's, you've been a great napper the past few hours on your play mat.
Any my Silas boy! I'm so proud of what  a great brother you have been today, listening to mama and playing so well!

Laundry is getting done, kitchen is clean and dinner is on its way to being finished.

Birds are singing, there's a breeze coming thru our window and the sun is shining and warming us up to a perfect 77!

I'm so thankful for today. When I look over at you two, my little boys, I wonder how I got so lucky to be your mama.
I hope you know how much I love you and how wonderful I think you both are! I wonder if one day you will remember these precious days of running around outside in the California Sunshine on a February afternoon. Drawing stick figures while we listen to The Civil Wars... or dancing to music after yummy smoothies.

Even if you don't... I hope you read my letters, and know that I'm treasuring each and everyone of these moments with you little boys.

Thank you Father for this blessing of a day. When the days are gloomy, I have a bad attitude and have given far too many spankings, please remind me of these days.

Wordless Wednesday: working mama

What I've Learned...

Where does the time go??

In my collage days I've wished for at least 30 hour days. As a mama, I wish for 48 hours days!

12 hours to be with the kids, 12 hours to do the laundry, cleaning, cooking and housework and another 24 hours to sleep! Wouldn't that be amazing? Maybe I can talk the kids into it...

When I had Silas, it was just the two of us. Laundry, Meals, Cleaning... no big deal. He slept all day, was asleep for the night by 7, and a late riser. I went to bed before 9, and slept in with him! Life was easy-peasy!
However, now I know why most my mama friends are up till 11pm or later. I've been doing, folding and putting away laundry, cleaning the kitchen and the rest of the house, working on social things all while feeding Isaac and trying to catch up with Brock after Silas was in bed.  I still have a ton on my list to do tho. And I haven't even had a moment to look at Words with Friends, Pinterest or even Facebook really!

I wouldn't change these days for anything... but I sure am learning to adjust and figure out a new routine!!! And more days then not, it seems like that means staying up late and waking up earlier!!!

but these guys make it worth it for sure =)

Menu Plan: Feb 20

Short Menu Week!
Brock is leaving for 2 weeks this week. So I'm not going over board on the menu planning. I'm back to cloth diapering Silas full time and Isaac most of the time. So, I'm not going too crazy on being domestic :)
