First Family Dolls?!

I'm not trying to become too outspoken on political things, but it has somewhat taken over our lives recently. Now i understand how people could be outspoken about Bush if they weren't in favor of him. But the Obama's are taking over the WORLD!

Ty, the maker of Beanie Babies, is introducing two new Ty <span class=

Ty, the maker of Beanie Babies, is introducing two new Ty Girlz dolls named Marvelous Malia and Sweet Sasha.
"The first lady’s office said Friday Ty was out of line. “We feel it is inappropriate to use young private citizens for marketing purposes,” said a spokeswoman for Michelle Obama in a statement."

So people are fighting on CNN's post if it's right or wrong. I always get censored on CNN, so I'll just write my own take here:

TY should have asked for permission first to use Sasha and Malia's names to put on a doll no questions there. While it's not right, TY has made many other dolls with other peoples names, and i haven't heard an outcry that it's wrong to have a Brittany Spears doll?

Which leads us to the next point. Are Sasha and Malia public figures. Some statements from CNN said no because they are under 12. Others said yes, because they are the President and First Lady's daughters (Duh!!!). The Clinton's asked for privacy for Chelsea, yet the Bushes did not for their twin daughters Barbara & Jenna. I do agree with many posters: If you use your children for election purposes, you can't be outraged or surprised when the media uses them as well. Are you going to hunt down the creators of "Obama" shirts, bobble heads and items for sale? What about an Obama THONG? That seems a little more worrisome than 2 dolls named after your daughters... (Besides, what girl wouldn't want little look-a-like doll named after them?)

I agree with this lady who writes: "With our new president's pro abortion agenda the Ty company should be putting out partial abortion dolls. Little broken bodies of Mexican babies slaughtered with American tax dollars."

Ahhhh, people. We are so wrapped up in all the little things. A of dolls creates so much controversy, yet people defend Obama spending millions on abortion. Wow America.

How Long?

I was talking with my friend Sarah today at lunch about politics. Obama's inauguration is drawing near, and news is flying. News about Bush and his presidency as a failure (which i totally don't support by the way) and how Obama will lead us and bring us out of this depression crap, etc... etc...

But as i read the news, listen to the headlines, and pray, i wonder where these next four (God willing ONLY FOUR!) year will lead us. CNN headline news today excitedly headlined a quote from Obama as saying our Constitution is outdated and is pushing for a revision/new Constitution. SERIOUSLY! His presidency has not yet started and we already hear him petitioning/campaigning to change such freedoms as the right to bear arms, right to assemble, bringing gays into the military at any cost, nationalized health, etc...

So i wonder how much longer we will have a pledge of allegiance to say, or a national anthem that is not against the law, or values to hold to that are still upheld by our country.

I think Obama needs to download some basic History & Government episodes of School House Rock for his iPod =)

2008

I know I'm a little behind on re-thinking our 2008, but January isn't over yet right?
We have so many things to be thankful for. 2008 was a year or many blessings, and God has brought us thru another year.

New Years '08 Party with friends & Pasadena Rose Parade
We drove up the coast to San Francisco

Herring/Buoniconti Camping Trip to Ocotilla Wells
Girls Trip to Vegas
Shawn & Laura's Wedding

Brock's Birthday Trip to Phoenix
The Knizleys Visit us from CO! (Pre Justus)

We had lots of fun hanging out with friends and together. Trips to the beach, Ducks games, Disneyland and so much more!

We also had a great trip to Tenn to see the Bertoni's and prayfully consider God leading us to move there.

Some major changes for us were:

-At the beginning of the year living in our apartment in Aliso Viejo.
By the end of the year, God had brought us to live with my parents in Tustin.
-At the beginning of the year, Brock was entering his 4th year of working for Audi
By the end of the year, God used the ending of has time at Audi to leading him into the National Guard & pursuing a career as a Police.
-At the beginning of the year, i was working with Starbucks in management and managing my own store.
By the end of the year, God has led me to working with 2 year old Brady  during the day & The O'Reilly boys in the evenings

There have been many big changes for us this past year that have brought me to my knees. But i am so thankful for the wonderfull family, church family and friends that have beeing praying for us.

We are still praying about moving to the Dickson area in Tennessee sooner rather than later and we love our church and being involved in the New Marrieds group there.

I can't wait to see where God leads us this coming year of 2009.

Psalm 5:1-3
Give ear to my words, O LORD,
       consider my sighing.

Listen to my cry for help,
       my King and my God,
       for to you I pray.

 In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice;
in the morning I lay my requests before you
       and wait in expectation.
